Wild Horses
Posted in Animals, Photography on July 27th, 2010 by John MastersA couple of weeks ago I was asked to take some images of a horse for selling. It dawned on me as I was out there that I had no idea how to photograph a horse. Most importantly I never much thought about horses. Not because I don’t think they are cool but because, well I just don’t normally think of them. The last time I rode one I was about 15 or younger, and that horse didn’t like me much. As a matter of fact that horse who was named “Thunder” didn’t like anyone, including the other horses in the group. He kept kicking his comrades in the face when they got behind him. This made my little sister extremely upset, mostly because it was her horse that was on the receiving end of the face plants. Anyway, I digress…when I was out on this farm with camera in hand, I realized how extremely beautiful horses are witness up close. Noble, muscular, wild and each one with their own unique personality.
I look forward to the day I have the opportunity to shoot these fine animals again. Next time I will know exactly what I am looking at and they will be as familiar as the ones in my dreams.
