Photographique Statement

No Decaf PleaseTaking an image of an object or a person using a camera has always fascinated me. When you have an image of a certain point in time or place where you once stood, it makes everything come back to you. Sometimes you can even recall other details of that day such as the weather or conversations had at the time you pulled the shutter.

Mom gave me my first real camera when I was 12, it was a Pentax K1000 35mm SLR.  The K1000 holds a prominent place in the living room as I love that camera still.

This website displays some of my favorite shots. Check back periodically as I switch out the portfolio contents every few weeks.

…just curious…(because I like your photographic style) is this your profession? Wow, that was kinda personal wasn’t it? Sorry. I guess what I want to know is ‘do you do this for a living.’ Just curious!

Ozgur – thank you for finding me and I am glad to meet you. I look forward to looking at your blog and come back anytime. I try to post as much as possible during the week. – Happy shooting.

S.F. Beehler – I currently us a Pentax istD (L). I have been using Pentax for many years starting with the K1000 so I have a lot of older lenses. My digital Pentax came with a kit lens 18-55 mm but I don’t prefer it really. I almost exclusively use my fixed 50mm because I enjoy it more than my other lenses. I think for me anyway the fixed 50mm forces me to move to the subject and it feels like it is the forgotten lens and I am always rooting for the underdog haha – but seriously I have always gravitated towards my fixed 50mm so it probably has more to do with I am most comfortable using it over my other lenses. I am glad you stopped by and I look forward to looking at your web page. – John
